Onesheet/Homepage Copy - Girl Possible 501(C)3

Challenge: Girl Possible needed a onesheet that could be used as both a handout and adapted for use as homepage copy. As a small non-profit, it did not have brand recognition. The copy needed to deliver a powerful headline and opening statement that would seize and hold the reader’s attention.

Solution: I wrote an emotion-driven headline about the potential all girls possess and then, in an editorial fashion, I introduced relevant facts about gender-based beliefs and how early children begin to internalize them, thus undermining the optimism of the headline. I briefly defined Girl Possible and its mission, using compelling sub-heads and milestones achieved by the organization, then closed with a partnership CTA.

Every girl has the potential to create and lead her own change

Girl Possible, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization, provides the tools and inspiration to help girls uncover their natural leadership abilities, think critically, articulate their ideas, and connect with others to tackle real issues in their communities.

One-of-a-kind Workshops

The Girl Possible team, all graduates of Stanford's d. school, has taught design thinking and leadership workshops across the country. We've packaged our best practices into two teaching toolkits.

Designed by girls, for girls

Find Your Drive (Part 1) lets girls uncover their unique leadership styles, discuss the issues that matter most to them, and reframe them as opportunities—all while laughing, playing, and bonding.

Make Your Mark (Part 2) helps girls begin turning their ideas into reality. In teams, girls brainstorm solutions and physically prototype them using fun arts and crafts supplies (like modeling clay and pipe cleaners). Each girl graduates with a prototype and an action plan to build on her innovations.

Tangible Impact

"We work in a school where 91% of our kids are on free and reduced lunch/breakfast and our population is very high need. We brought 30 girls together with the idea of showing them their own strengths and the strengths of others. Long story short, WE LOVED THIS WORKSHOP. Girls of all backgrounds with all sorts of history with each other came together."

— Maria Lantz, Harding Middle School (Des Moines, IA)
