About
The most ruthless multitasker I've ever seen was a man flossing his teeth in the elevator.
While I could never be that efficient, I do think on my feet (I got out of his way), and I immediately wondered what made flossing so important to that man. Vanity? Childhood cavities? Before I could ask him directly, the doors opened on my floor.
I use that curiosity to understand the deep benefit that motivates your audience. Then I write copy that engages that set of human beings, not data points.
No matter the project, my biggest strengths are careful listening, authentic engagement with you and your audience—and writing, of course!

I get where you're coming from...

I've executed website redesigns for TD AMERITRADE, optimization testing for Sirius XM, and public relations for Playtex/NASN (National Association of School Nurses).

Along the way, I worked closely with copywriters and often penned copy myself, but I also wrestled recalcitrant data management tools, scrutinized inexplicable test results, and juggled competing deadlines.
My marketing background gives me insight into the larger context of your project, your business, and most importantly, why you just need someone to write effective copy so you can worry about one less thing.

A bit of buzz...
"I was very comfortable with Gretchen from the start, she’s great at her job very knowledgeable in what she does, friendly and professional. She knows how to get any message across and adapts well to her audiences. Always open to new ideas and takes everything I say into consideration. She’s there whenever I had questions (even on short notice) and explains her thoughts very well and always up to date with recent news. Working with Gretchen is a fun experience and I have learned a lot from her. I would absolutely work with her again anytime!"

What's my deep benefit?
I get to combine my passion for words and story with my empathic nature, creating connections between real people and real products that improve their lives.
To round things out, I have a B.A. in English from Franklin & Marshall College (Go Dips) and I attended the Middlebury College Breadloaf Writers' Conference, which is extremely competitive—even if no one's ever heard of it.
